Basic Principles of Communications Cabling City and Guilds 3666-01
Course overview:
This training course provides delegates with a thorough understanding of the theory of basic communications cabling principles and how they are applied in a modern communications cabling system. The course looks at the different types of copper cabling including Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat6a and other non ratified systems. In addition, the course also takes a look at optical fibres otherwise known as fibre optic cabling, to include a summary of single mode (sm) and multimode (mm) as well as common definitions.

Assessment:
All candidates are assessed via 25 multiple choice questions – this is a "closed book” examination and is carried out using the computer based City and Guilds Gola system – all candidates are given their results at the end of the examination.
