This course is very intensive and runs over 4 days. Essentially it provide delegates with underpinning knowledge and the practical skills so that delegates can install, splice, terminate and test fibre optic cabling in a typical premises environment.

Using a number of simulated scenarios, and practical training set ups, this course concentrates on the components, equipment and the best “practice” that typically, is used for the local area network situation. Multimode or singlemode cabling is utilised in the training sessions with delegates acquiring the knowledge and skills acquired that can then be applied to fibre optic cabling systems used for LAN applications, CCTV, security, industrial process control and sensor applications.

- Carry out a OTDR test on fibre optic links

- Fibre optic fault finding

 

All candidates are assessed via an online examination, which comprises of 25 multiple choice questions. City and Guilds 3667-02:102 is a “closed book” examination and is carried out using the computer based City and Guilds e-volve system.

All candidates are given their results at the end of the examination.

There is also a series of timed practical assessments.

 

This course costs £750 plus vat and is inclusive of all course materials and examination fees.

 

This course leads to a fully accredited level 2 qualification in Fibre Optic Cabling in an Internal Environment

Delegates are provided with a full colour, comprehensive course manual to work through during the course.
